Artist's Message

2010 Already!  With the holidays behind us we can start looking forward to new adventures in the coming year.

I am proud to say that one of my designs was selected to appear in American Style Magazine, which is an award-winning magazine for art lovers, collectors, and galleries.  My design was included with three other members of the Northeast Chapter of Florida Society of Goldsmiths.  We felt honored!  (Click here to see the listing)

While the recession continued to hover over us, I want to thank my many existing and new clients who selected either my designs or the designs of the artists I represent through Artists At The Metro.  We are pleased to offer quality artisan work, all unique and handcrafted.

I'm loving my new studio located at  2800 N. Atlantic Avenue, Suite 5, Daytona Beach.  Hours are by appointment and I'd love to show you how my my designs are created from raw metals and Mother Nature's beautiful gemstones.

In the meantime, visit me at:

Metropolitan Gallery & Frame
46 E. Granada Boulevard
Ormond Beach, FL        32176

And, don't forget about our First Friday on E. Granada event the first Friday of each month.  As Co-coordinator, I can assure you it will be great event to stroll down the boulevard from the "Bridge to the Ocean", enjoy live music, art, boutiques and refreshments.  You can get more details at firstfridayeastgranada.com  And, don't forget to pick up your V.I.P. card to enjoy merchant specials all month long!

I continue learning new techniques to bring extra elements into my designs.  Look for some work with mixed metals, copper patinas, enameling and much more.  These should bring new dimension and great color.   These new techniques, combined with the wonderful purchases of gemstones, organics, and pearls at the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral Show,  will be fun to work with for this year's designs.   I'm very excited and hope you will be as well.

You can reach me directly by phone, email, or at my studio.  Contact information is listed below.

Enjoy!

Nancy

Artist Statement

After growing up in a small town in the Northeast, I was drawn to the big cities of New York, San Francisco, and finally Miami.  What I loved about each of these locations was the diversity, the contrast, and amid all that, the balance that played out to make it all work together.  And, to top it off, they are all coastal cities that embrace another contrast to the hustle and bustle, by providing the tranquility of the ocean.

My work is a reflection of these characteristics. You will see contrast in many aspects:  colors, shapes, sizes, and texture.  Yet, you will also see a balance where no one element overpowers another.  My work can enjoy its diversity in its individual components, while enjoying a balance in the entire piece.

I currently live once again in a small town and travel frequently to my cities where I feel the pulse, hear the different beats, and become inspired.  When I come home I can sit on my dock on the Intercoastal, or walk east to the ocean, to add the final ingredient of tranquility, representing harmony, representing balance.
